HATE IT SMELLS TERRIBLE

I got this to make body butters, lotion bars and whipped jar products but the unrefined kokum butter smells terrible. One review said it’s has no order but mercy me mine smells terrible. Maybe my batch is old but it’s supposed to be white in color but it’s a dingy brownish color and smells TERRIBLE. Hopefully someone from the company will contact me to explain it. Good grief it’s bad I feel I wasted my money I can’t use it. I used 1 ounce to make a lotion bar and half a bottle to over power the terrible sent but no way. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SMELL. I want to cry I’m so depressed and disappointed.

Unfortunately, it seems you may have wanted the refined version. This is the Unrefined version of Kokum Butter, the white version would be Refined.

I love this butter. It has a higher melting point so it helps my butters not to melt in transit. It's great for the hair and skin. I have also used it in beard balms and the men loved it. Overall, it's a great butter to work with.

I only tried this in the Around the World sampler, and it's not my favorite. Very powdery and crumbly, no odor, I really just don't know how to use it and work with it other than in a body butter with other body butters. I would NOT use this alone. I think this was meant to be used with other ingredients, gives your body butter a mattified finish and cuts the greasy-feel quite a bit. Again, not my favorite, but it's unique for sure.
